ADHD Storytelling: Bridging the Gap Between Clinical Knowledge & Lived Experience
Purpose-driven creator, author, and ADHD advocate.
Dani Donovan is a purpose-driven creator, author, and ADHD advocate whose cathartic comics, TikTok videos, and #NeurodiverseSquad hashtag have helped build an online community for adults living with ADHD. She’s been featured in publications like The New York Times, BBC News, and NPR, and was the closing keynote at the 2021 International ADHD Conference. Her unorthodox self-help book, The Anti-Planner: How to Get Sh*t Done When You Don’t Feel Like It, offers creative strategies, activities, and games to help procrastinators understand their emotions and overcome productivity roadblocks. Session V: Unmet Needs in the Pharmacotherapy of Depression: Is Help Really on the Way?
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the unmet needs that are not well addressed by the current state of the art for antidepressant pharmacotherapy
- State the recent developments that have led to new medications that address these problems
- Identify treatments that target glutamatergic mechanisms, such as ketamine/esketamine and neurosteroids that indirectly modulate glutamatergic neurotransmission
